Ah, the time-honoured classic of the Desert level. Look, there's even a pyramid. Now all we need are mummies and Indiana Jones and we'll have the full set of clichés.
The Desert level is in the basement. Go left from the painting for the Fire World and left again. It looks like a dead-end, but you can jump into the wall! Silly mirages...
